HOW TO MAXIMIZE YOUR WARDROBE
Don’t know about you but I am over wasteful clothing habits. Despite the number of events and outings I partake in, I have found that I have only gotten to use a quarter of my entire wardrobe or less in a year’s time. Not only is this not cost effective, but it’s just not sustainable-- I've decided that something’s gotta give!
What better time than the start of the year to embark on the journey to wardrobe maximization? If you’re wondering what wardrobe maximization is, keep reading, I’ll explain.
I see wardrobe maximization as not only getting the most cost per wear from luxury purchases, but also ensuring the repurposing of all, or at least the majority of all of our wardrobe pieces. Ultimately getting the most out of all of the items we consume.
Will I continue to shop new items? Of course— but I will be extremely intentional about ensuring purchases made will serve as an immediate purpose and add value to my day to day in more ways than one. In fact I’ve already gotten to the point of making purchases based on this idea.
If I am unable to imagine at least 2 to 3 ways or more for how I can style an item, regardless of how fabulous it may be, I may have to decline the purchase.
There are a number of ways that we can journey to a more sustainable fashion lifestyle and this is just one of them. While I am still a work in progress in this area, attempting to maximize my wardrobe is at least a start. If I can attempt to do it then I know you can too. Will you journey with me?
