Time and time again you have likely heard me mention the benefits that come from a multi-seasonal wardrobe. This would ultimately be a wardrobe that seamlessly takes you from one season to the next with just a few tweaks relative to the current season.
If you have already started the multi-seasonal wardrobe journey with me then you are well on your way to building the perfect fall capsule. If not, then there’s still time, keep reading.
Your individual style and lifestyle will dictate the specific items you select for your fall capsule (we will uncover the specifics of what to consider including in your capsule in a separate post). However, capsule items should be selected with intention, and quality should be the primary focus since these will be timeless items we anticipate never dating. Some capsule items may require a bit of a refresh over time, however, the style and relevance should remain the same.
While I am not suggesting a wardrobe that is anti-color, I have found that a neutral color palette as the base can be extremely beneficial. Neutral tones will typically pair seamlessly with one another which helps with efficiency when making outfit selections. You will also find that this makes it much easier to decide when and how to add color should you choose.
Another honorable mention to any wardrobe would be color coding. Color coding is a great tool to use to optimize organization, which will also help with the efficiency of your outfit selections.
Having the perfect fall capsule can help prevent impulse shopping and make it easier to determine trends worth trying. You will find that your capsule will provide a great point of reference when determining new purchases that will be most complimentary to what you have.
Lastly, focus on quality over quantity when selecting pieces for your fall capsule. Paying top dollar or focusing solely on designer selections does not automatically equate quality. Take the time to study quality fabrics and materials before making capsule purchases. The goal is stylish timeless finds.
